Well I don't know how many of ya'll have been to New Orleans but i used to live around there for a few years. I was sitting here reminiscing about a few things and my friends and the partys we used to have...which brings me to a fav drink that I haven't found anywhere else and thought I would share it with ya'll. This will light you up.

Re: New Orleans
yeah, i lived in FL for 1 year, 2000-2001, HATED IT!! moved right back up to NY!
yes, i did party like hell at ybor, loved it, but went to bourbon st last year in college, and saw that ybor was like a pitiful attempt made by computer geeks to try and match the parties the rich jocks threw and crazy punks crashed. I honestly think that big easy will never be the same. i think any legacy, tradition, and character of New Orleans has died with Katrina.

Re: New Orleans
i was in NO for new years once. Good lord, i've never seen so many tits before. And those hurricanes and hand gernades were damn good. Another sweet thing was that they didn't play rap at EVERY bar. they actually played rock. SWEET!

... the spirit, heritage, and traditions aren't going to be gone or slighted by katrina. Miami-hurricane Andrew anyone remember that? Miami is still strong as before. Now the fear of a hurricane will still loom over them for along time but only when it's season and it looks as though a hurricane could hit. I predict N.O. will be back to its partying ways, Mardi Gras and all next year.

Re: New Orleans
well i certainly hope so, but you can't argue that parts of new orleans are dead that will never come back; history. there were historics sites there such as homes from the french settlements before america was founded, stuff like that that got washed away by katrina that's just gone. i mean, you could rebuild it, but that's jsut stupid, cuz its brand new with no real history.

Re: New Orleans
Not to much got washed away nor destroyed. Yea there was major flooding but not from waves. It was from the levys failing. It just pretty much filled up the worse damage is water damage albeit polluted. Also there was more areas than you think that were not flooded French Quarter for example. Also it was on the weak side of the storm so there really isnt that much wind damage. Historicly (i know i spelled that wrong) The coast of Ms. will be missing much more and have a harder time to recover. 4 out 5 citys that i lived in got it 20 times worse. Those casinos that ya'll saw on tv one of them was sitting in my old backyard. Not to mention that area recovered pretty well from Camile.
