Control Arm Bushings
When I had my oil changed last week, the guy at the dealer said that the front left control arm bushing is seperating from the control arm. He said I should get the bushing replaced within the next month and that it'd cost $123 (parts and labor) plus tax. Has anyone had this before? Could I do it myself without taking too much apart or without going to a garage? Is the estimate reasonable?

Re: Control Arm Bushings
having never done control arm bushings on these vehicles, but seeing how easy they are on others, and doing them on those cars, I'd say do it yourself.
Goto a parts store, pick up some bushings and press them in yourself. i'm assuming you already have the tools and means to jack up the car, and remove the control arms to replace the bushings. |

Re: Control Arm Bushings
I don't have all the tools, so I'll probably take it to the dealer unless an independent shop is cheaper. Do you think that a bad control arm bushing could cause the wheel to be off camber? I think it seems to be leaning in a little towards the top of the wheel.

Re: Control Arm Bushings
You may want to check if this is a recall item. I think I have received several recall slips on this. I may not cost you anything if so.

Re: Control Arm Bushings
Thanks for telling me now - I had it done a few months ago.
