Hi, all!
I've been in the market looking for a clean low-mile '98-'00 1 litre/5-speed and finally snagged one. Its a one owner '98 with 50k, a/c and power brakes. The color is butterscotch-gold, but I don't know its official name- does anyone know? I live in Reno and found the car in Salt Lake City- on the 530 mile drive back it used 10.9 gals for a mileage of 48.6 mpg- not bad for not really knowing where the sweet-spot is mileage-wise . I figure it will be hitting 50+ after a little trying (higher tire pressures, synthetic oils, purchase a ScanGauge, etc.). Darin at MetroMPG.com has some great results/tips for those mileage-seekers amoung us. A great hedge against the prospect of $5 gas in the not-to-distant future... - Stan |

Re: Newbie 98 1.0 HB
A little research with the car's paint code turned up the color's name: California Gold Metallic- a new offering for '98. It sure stands out in a world of greys and the other muted earth tones of today. Any other California Gold owners out there???
