Ram air hood

Besides looks , is there any advantage to a Ram air hood without the cold air intake? Thancks.

Re: Ram air hood

If you hook up the ram air scoops to be fully functional, the only advantage is at speeds above 60mph. Anything less than that, and the ram air pressure is insignificant. With a cold air intake, hooked up to the ram-air scoops, it drops the speed to about 45mph, but in either case, the gains are almost undetectable. Under these speeds, Ram-air does absolutely nothing, other than isolating under hood heat from the intake charge, which is the same thing a cold air intake alone is for. If you're looking for performance gains, there are many more cheaper alternatives. If it's the look you want, then it's up to you if it's worth the price.
