!995 2.2L Transmission problem

Tranny went out at 143K miles and had a rebuilt tranny put in. After the 3K warranty expired, the tranny is having a problem. The car will move in reverse and 1st gear, but it wont shift into 2nd or 3rd. The tranny doesn't slip and is very strong pulling in reverse/1st gears. The tranny oil is showing approx. 1" too high in fluid levels while both cold and warm. Any Ideas?

Re: !995 2.2L Transmission problem

My 91's service manual lists several reasons why it may not shift into 2-3. Wrong fluid levels, T.V. valve, manual linkage misadjusted, intermediate servo, T.V. link, and other possible internal problems. May be just out of adjustment. Might have to take it back to them for a checkup, as they are a complicated thing.

Thanks for the reply! Just out of curiosity, this car has a bad rear motor (driver side) mount on it. when you brake, the driver side whell pulls back and shakes when you slow down. do you think all this shaking might have done something?

I have not dealt with this myself, but makes sense to get it checked out.
