Re: bushings and ball joints

look up 'energy suspension bushings' and you'll find everything you need.

Re: bushings and ball joints

I got a package of Ebay that included lower ball joints, complete upper control arm, sway bar end links, inner and outer tie rods for around $130. That doesn't have the bushings, but it was a good deal. The parts worked well OE fitment.

Just curious, did your engine mounts just break, or what? Is there something that causes them to break?

Re: bushings and ball joints

since the engine is constantly vibrating, the mounts can't be rigid or the whole car would shake. you only feel a fraction of that through the steering wheel and frame when you drive.

anyway, the mounts are a circular metal mount with a rubber core and a place to put a bolt through.

rubber deteriorates over time no matter how well you take care of it. the mounts could actually have been cracked for several years if they've never been replaced. there was not a very noticable change in performance after i replaced mine.

replacing them doesn't take a whole lot of technical knowledge or a lot of time if you know what you're doing.

Re: bushings and ball joints

I just wanted to add that I had the poly motor mount inserts in my car for a few months and was annoyed by the vibration. I pulled them out and bought an new OEM front mount (this was the mount that was cracked the worst) and I'm happy with it now. I also bought and installed most of the energy suspension bushings in the master kit and did have to buy the rear trailing arm bushings seperate and I'm happy with them as well.
