T440 or 4T60?

So I recently replaced my tranny in my euro 3.1. instead of using another t440, I put a 4t60 in. is there any issues with using the 4t60 over the t440. I do know that my speedomiter is of atleast 15mph, can I re-adjust it or can I take the speed sensor off the 440 and use it on the 4t60.
I've noticed that the car has much more throttle response with the 4t60 than it ever did with the T440.. I dont know how I did it but my 3.1 smoked a gt mustang... different gear ratios maybe? any input it welcome

Re: T440 or 4T60?

There are many different versions of the th440 and 4t60. As long as you didn't swap in a 4t60e, which is electronically controlled, you should have no problems. The speedo issue is most likely due to a different final drive ratio in the replacement unit. The final drive ratio's range from a 2.84:1 all the way to a 3.29:1, so that would throw your speedo off quite a bit if you went from one far end of the scale to the other.

Re: T440 or 4T60?

To: RichTazz, is there a way to correct the speedo issue by taking the speed sensor from the t440 and put it into the 4t60? or will that work?
