Front mounted inter for Rex... is it really worth?

It seems to me that there are 2 groups of people; one suggests front mounted, while other say it is NOT necessary...

I am deciding what should I do with my stock WRX.

My point is that YES, front mounted can clearly lead to better overall performance, but what if we use ours every to work (with of course some exercises when the roads is allowed, say up to 220 km/hr). In such condition, should I spend on the mounted intercooler?

Oh! also, will the front mounted longer my engine life?
