i have a 1998 dohc and it just started "stumbling" i think, it feels like its losing power and dropping off and quickly gaining it back during acceleration, and if i press harder it can croak. i've read of many problems that can cause it, i was wondering if anyone might have had a similar one, and could someone please please explain to me what exactly a stumble is?
thanks in advance. telamonkinslayer |

Hmmm. Check and see if you are throwing any codes. Go here to see how to get codes:
http://www.neons.org/neontsb/diagnost.htm Then tell us what codes you are putting out if you are. |

Hmm, how many miles are on your car?
Some things I would check would be: spark plugs/wires - possible bad coil pack (depending on your mileage) fuel system - you may need a new fuel filter or fuel injection service camshaft postion sensor - check the left side of the motor near the valve cover and see if there's any oil leaking or oil sludge...that's a sign of it going aside from the stumbling wiring going from the battery - especially if you have a Chrysler battery that leaks that acidy crap...check power wire to make sure it isn;t corroded check by your throttle body, make sure no hoses are interferring with the throttle (accelerator) cable Also when your car loses power, do your lights/accessories still come on or does the whole system die? |
