many questions about my E30 318is

I've got a 1990 318is and boy am I having difficulty. The car runs great but it's the accessories that I'm having trouble with. Can anyone tell me where I can get mags; 16" 4x100 with 20mm offset. They are hard to find. Also I've read in many magazines that my M42 engine won't have any increase in power if I install an induction kit or even a chip. Is this true? Also, I live in Canada and the price of suspension kits compared to those in the Uk are ridiculous. Please anyone, help me find what I need. Thanks alot

I know that every engine that has electronic injection can be powered with a chip tuning. Doesn't matter what kind of engine it is!
I think yours has el. injection as it is a northamerican version.
So you can have a 5-10% increase of power.
About the wheels...i don't know the situation in Canada, but in Europe you can find lots of alloy wheels for your car.May be you can try to search for some european sites that sell car-accessories.

the guys at dtmpower.net on the e30 forms know alot. im good friends with e30 stu who has modified the hell out of his 91 318is.

The best chip you can buy for your car is a Jim Confronti chip. it raises the redline to 7200. i think it gives around 15 to 20 hp in the higher rpms.

As for springs, if you will be driving around on snow in the winter i wouldnt get anything to drasitcally low/stiff.

As for wheels, tryout tirerack.com. just enter your car and it will give you all the wheels that fit.

And most induction kits wont get you any hp unless you have a heat shield to go along, but you still wont get more than 3-5 hp at peak hp. but a cone filter will make your car sound a hell of alot better.
