Where did you run your amp wires?
I am trying to get my power cable from the battery into the car for my new amp. I cant find any ways to get through the firewall on the passenger side of the car. Where did you guys put yours through.

Re: Where did you run your amp wires?
dont you still have to run a power cable thru the firwall to get to the battery? anyway under the ac hoses on the passenger side of the fire wall there will be a rubber cap in the fire wall. just get i flat head screwdriver and pop it out. thats what i did. let me know if you dont have a hole in yours. la

Re: Where did you run your amp wires?
If you take the plug out make sure and wrap alot of tape or like I did stick a piece of rubber around the wire so it does not rub the firewall or you will arc it and the car will be toast.

or just push a hole threw the plug and run the wire though that.

Re: Where did you run your amp wires?
good. i was gonna suggest that hole behind the A/C.
i had been toying with the idea of putting in an amp and subwoofer for a long time, but it wasn't until i found that hole through the firewall that was already there that i realized how easily i could run my wires. i ordered my amp and speaker that very day. i've had some quirks with it though. the fuse box is just kinda hanging there in the engine bay. i haven't found anything to mount it to, but the terminal going from the battery to the amp is something ridiculous like 4 guage , so it supports its own weight fairly well. i think the fuse that came with it is 80 amps.... and i'm pretty sure that my alternator only puts out 60 amps... so.... heh... |

Re: Where did you run your amp wires?
Thats what I did. It might as well have said "put amp wires here" to keep it clean just pop off ur door sill trim peices and stick it under there.

Re: Where did you run your amp wires?
I tried putting a hole through the plug but after awhile the plug split and the wire was touching the firewall once again, alphalanos has a good point about the sill trim then just pop the back seat up off or the two hangers and run it through the back, it will look clean. I also mounted my amp over the back cover of the rear drivers side tail light, there is plenty of room to drill holes and still keep the trunk room, also it allows for a pretty big amp, I run two kenwood 1,000's over each tail light and just run the wires underneath the carpet. You cannot even see a wire except for about 1" that actually attaches the wires to the amps
