Re: no spark

Mike,

One spot to check, among many, would be the Crankshaft Position Sensor, located on top of the transmission bellhousing, just behind the rocker panel on the engine. There is usually 2 small wires that come up from behind the rocker panel to the driver's side from the CPS and plug into a bundle on the firewall.

If you disconnect that plug and place the leads of a multimeter into the wires coming from the CPS, and have a friend crank over the engine, you should get a voltage reading, exactly what voltage, I'm not sure, but as long as it's producing a current, it should be working properly. If it is working, sometimes some electrical cleaner is all that's required in that plug in connector.

I've had the same problem, every few weeks, and always the most inconvenient time and location. Since I've periodically cleaned that connection, I've never had a no-spark problem again.

Like I said, this is one spot to check, I sure that others will share some suggestions. Let us know what it was when you do find out.

Re: no spark

I have two suggestions.

1. Use the "Search This Forum" using "no spark" and review the long list of hits it gernerates. You find a lot of good info in many of these.

2. Go to following links and try to diagnose what component is bad before spending more time and money replacing parts.

Good Luck!
