Heated mirrors

The other day I took my truck to the dealer and they said I had a bad oxygen sensor and a leaking right front axle seal. I had them change both and now my heated mirrors dont work. The rear window defogger still works. Any ideas would be helpful. 03 2500 hd

Re: Heated mirrors

Well, I can tell you that the dealer work has nothing to do with your mirrors not heating. It's not unusual for them to stop working, however to have both of them stop at the same time is odd. Call a local glass shop (small, independant shop preferably), and tell them you need both mirrors replaced. They will probably put in Burco's (brand name). Should be less than a hundred for both. You're positive they both stopped working? - Rob

Re: Heated mirrors

instead of replacing them right away, why not backtrack to solutions for why they might not be working?

is there a fuse or something for the mirror warmers, etc?

Re: Heated mirrors

yes, both mirrors don't work. I called the dealer and they will hook it up to the scanner and check it out. The mirrors are controlled by the trucks computer. As far as I can tell by the factory manual there are no fuses just a relay, please correct me if I am wrong. Also the rear window defogger is on the same relay and it is still working.

Glad it was something simple

Re: Heated mirrors

Glad to hear you solved your problem. And thanks for posting your solution.
I'm about to pull off my door panel. Neither one of my power mirrors tilts up. They will move side to side and down but not up. Now I will pay closer attention to the connections.
