I have a 94 Seville with 154K on it Last week found leaking oil into starter valley. Upon disassembly mechanic found head leaking. Heads taken off and using new headbolts first one pulled out on torque(30#) Heilicoiled all and still would not hold torque. I found a low mile Deville Y code but it is a 97 model. What nightmares would we experince puting this in my 94 Seville?? Both are Y code in serial # Also could the whole cradle with trans etc be movable from the 97 Deville to the 94 Seville. I appreciate any and all comments. ( the 97 Deville is a light front tap and has only 44K on it. The whole car is available so I may have 4 good doors(tan -beige) and a nice leather interior plus 4 alloy wheels available for sale if anyone needs them Also excellent rear clip. Please e-mail to [email protected] or answer thru to forum Thanks

Re: 94 Seville engine DOA Need swap info
Right off the bat you are going from obd1 pcm and controls to obd11 controls, so the electronics on the engine are incompatible.

Re: 94 Seville engine DOA Need swap info
The repair failed because the Northstar engine cannot usually be repaired using helicoils. It must have timeserts dur to stresses on the headbolts.
Go here for more info.... http://www.timesert.com/. There is a set specifically designed for Northstars. |
