Belt Replacement
I know this will sound silly, but what is the easiest method to replace the serpentine belt on a 2000 Silverado 1500, 5.3L.I don't see a tension idle pully like on the ac belt that would release the belt tension to remove it.

Re: Belt Replacement
The absolute easiest way is to take it in and have someone else do it.

Re: Belt Replacement
oosp wrong belt.
just unwind it then rewinded the new one. there is realy no easy way. the one blelt system is a bear to put on. if you do it a few times it becomes real easy to do. |

Re: Belt Replacement
It can't be too hard. Just take your time and read the little schematic on the plastic shield under the hood that tells you how to run it. I used to do this all the time at the service station.
