I just traded for a 92 dakota v8 auto. The guy I got it from said it was bad fuel pump. He said when he got it, he was told it was the coil. So he bought one and put it on and it fired up. He was able to take it up the road and back and it died. Now it won't start. It trys and trys but just won't do it. Smells like a lot of gas is getting dumped in the tbi. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Re: Just got a 92 Dakota doesn't start
Changed spark plugs and it fired right up. Now, I took it down the road and back home and shut it off and tried to start back up and nothing. Waited a minute or so and tried again and it started. Any ideas what would cause that?

Could be this... http://dodgeram.info/tsb/1992/18-04-92.htm Or maybe a bad Crank Position Sensor or Cam postition Sensor in the distributor.
