Bad Headlight Fix ! Info For All !

I bought a 1997 Trans Sport and recently I drove it at night for the first time ... Anyway the headlights were working terrible ! it was difficult to see ! ...The next day I checked it out and and after taking the one headlight assembly out of the car and looking at the pictures in the Haynes manual I could see that the HEADLIGHT BULBS WERE INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN ! this messed up the headlight aiming something terrible !
I had not worked on the headlights so the previous owner had installed the bulbs upside down ! I took the bulbs out and found that it was easy to put them in either way ...There is a slot on the headlight assembly and a tab on the bulb but the holes were so sloppy you could stick them in anyway you wanted to ! ...I turned the bulbs over and aligned them with the slots and WOW what a difference ... I CAN SEE I CAN SEE So if you have lousy working headlights I suggest you check to see if the bulbs are in there Properly ! By the way if you touch the glass part of the bulbs your finger oil can cause the bulb to blow when you turn on the headlights the finger oil burns and gets black this causes the bulb to break so be carefull not to touch the glass part of the bulbs ...Now if you Do touch the glass part by accident or whatever then clean them off with a clean rag and some alcohol before you put them back in ...
