A new twist on Accord power locks
I'm new to the forum--this is a great resource, thanks to its sponsors and everyone's willingness to share experiences and expertise. I have a 2000 Honda Accord and was T-boned by a mule deer three weeks ago--totalled my driver's side front quarter panel and door, which I replaced with salvage parts. Unfortunately, the kid who took the door off the salvage car actually cut (!) the wiring harness. Well, I couldn't get my big old dumb hands up under the dash to unplug the terminal to my original door's harness, so, for better or worse, I cut mine, too, and soldered the two together. There was a perfect correspondence between the wires, and I did a good job soldering the wires. Everything works fine, I painted the car and cleaned it up and you'd never know that I've been the victim of a mammalian quadraped hit-and-run, but now the only time my electric door locks work is when the ignition system is activated. If my key's off, I can't use my power locks. Hehe. <sheepish grin> Does anyone have any ideas?
