Im going NA what should i get?
what i have is a honda accord ex 94. i have a couple of things in hand to be installed in the spring. I live in NYC so i have to wait for the winter season to be gone with. I have a JDM H22A from a JDM Accord SIR. 190 hp's and 152 lbs of torque. It is an automatic and i do not want to change to a manual for the simple reason that i like to lay back and ride not to mention traffic is a @#$%$. Many of you guys would say go manual but most of you guys live in cities where the speed limit is more than 50. Anyway i want go the NA route. I know its expensive but i can work with it. This is a list of what i have down to get:
skunk2 stage II camshafts skunk2 pro seiries intake manifold(port and polished) skunk2 titanium retainers and valve springs skunk2 throttle body AEM cam gears AEM fuel rail AEM fuel regulator AEM pullys JE pistons 11:5:1 Port and polished head Eagle H beam rods apexi vtec controller This is pretty much all i have in mind for the rebuliding of the H22a. Would there be anything that i can add that would add to performance? or is there anything better than what i have mentioned above. What kind of ECU program can i use to better tune my car? Keep in mind its an automatic. i am not going turbo. Im looking for a goal of about 220 whp |

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
Look into Crome or Uberdata....if you really have money to waste, go Hondata, but one of the others would work just fine IMO....

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
Don't waste your money on a skunk2 intake manifold, it does next to nothing. Either have your stock one worked on, or get a Euro R mani, and maybe even work that. Also, don't forget your typical intake, header, exhaust. Intake and exhaust are preference for the most part, but if you're looking for the most performance (and if i was gonna do an NA setup) get a custom header, either SMSP or RMF. They'll give you 15-20 whp, from a bolt on.

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
it all depends on how much power you want to make...is there a certain reason youd rather be n/a than boosted? with all the parts you named you could make a turbo setup and have a lot more power but its just a suggeston...

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
The reason why i won't go turbo is because 1)my car is an automatic 2)the maintenance on a turbo car is expensive and 3)how much of that power would i be able to use in NYC?

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
Since i will be working on my motor is there anything i can do to my automatic transmission to make it stronger because i highly doubt my transmission will be able to hold up well if my motor is going to be making a lot of power.

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
seriously rethink your decision about switching to manual tranny. if youre just a cruising type of guy just save yourself the money and get your motor rebuilt with minimal aftermarket products i/h/e. then call it a day.
reason why i say this is because honda trannys, especially autos crap out. thats the reason they wont hold up against top of the line N/A and boosted whips. no point in having that much power if your tranny cant handle it.

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
but isn't there something i can do to my auto tranny to make it stronger so that it can handle the power?

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
You would have plenty of fun with a stock h22 with boltons. For you it doesn't seem like you need a built motor, it will just create a future headache if you plan on keeping the auto trans. Yes you can get the tranny built stronger, but it would require locating a specialty honda auto tranny shop. They do exist, but are very few and far between, and expensive. After that, the auto wouldn't be so friendly to drive everyday either. I said it in another thread and I will say it again, don't halfass anything. It just leads to headaches.

Re: Im going NA what should i get?
i appreciate everyones advice and i don't take any offense to anything. so what would be the best boltons for a h22a except for i/h/e and how much power would be too much for my auto tranny? Its funny how i've been researching on how to get power now i have to research on not to make too much power. Oh well, i guess i will focus a little more on looks then.
