"Angel poised ball joints"?

I knew when you cornered hard in Falcons you balanced yourself in the lap of the Gods but this it going too far!

Seriously though, I remember seeing Big Pete's 'Super Falcon' as it was called at Amaroo Park and it was the fastest thing out there. Back then, apart from Stormin' Norman Beechey's ill-handling Monaro (Bob Jane's aluminium ZL-1 Camaro always stayed in Melbourne) it was the only thing that could catch Moffat's gen-oo-ine Trans Am Mustang. The 'Stang's 302 was later replaced by the injected 351 from Moffat's own Super Falcon, but never ran reliably (usually oil surge) and the original Boss motor was refitted, which made for a sad and pointless end to the 2nd Falcon built

Ahh ... memories

Thanxs for the fotos CCCC

Falcons are cool cars... my friend from work had a 60 something one with a straight six... he didnt really mod it... I think the only thing he added was a flex fan thing...

He said it cornered really good... too bad it was an auto...

Arrow Supercharged

All of these falcons are pretty cool but i have a 300kw at the wheels monstor for you to dribble over. It belongs to my brother. Its a AU 2 XR8 ute. It has a vortech blower running 7 pounds. It has a 5 speed trans. 17 XR8 wheels. extractors. 3 inch exhaust. LSD diff. chipped to the max. It was dyno tested 2 months ago and it ran 300kw at the rear wheels.

Super-what?

300kW or 400Bhp at the rear wheels...

Yeah right.

You're trying to convince us that a 302 Windsor running 1/2 bar of boost and some extractors, running through a five speed BTR synchro box and a 'nine-inch' mechanical LSD is making 400 Bhp at the rear wheels.

Allowing for a very conservative 15% mechanical drivetrain losses this would mean that the donk would be making 350kW at the flywheel...

With no change to the heads, ports, intake tract, camshaft duration/lift - even with a chip running the standard injectors at 100% duty I doubt it would have enough capacity to inject fuel to produce those kind of figures...

Alternatively, the standard 302W makes about 200kW or a very lazy 40kw/litre of swept volume and suddenly with 0.5 bar of boost, a chip and some headers it now makes 70kw/litre.

One more thing...

Got a dyno sheet purporting to show these numbers?

Maybe 300kW at the flywheel by taking the rear-wheel output and allowing for drivetrain losses... maybe....
