(almost) finished pics of impreza wrx

here are some pics of my almost finished impreza. girlfriend was over with her digi so i took some pics while i could. still missing spoiler, one mirror and license plates. was painted using tamiya gun metal spray and lowered by shaving the backs of the brakes and carefully super glued into place. the rims were replaced with fujimi 18" versus rims and the two front seats were taken from my skyline kit which has to be redone.your comments and criticism are very much appreciated in the meantime. thanks. B.

i think primera man mentioned it awhile back in an itr thread, but basically i just shaved the back of the brake disk flat, as well as part where the disk would normally connect to and then wheels are pushed up into the top of wheel wells and super glued into place. this isnt the classiest way to do it because you have to line it up carefully so it looks legit. if you mess up the centring (like i did on my integra) it looks a little out of whack, i'll post some pictures later to show you what i mean. does this sound right to you? i'm having a brain fart right now and i'm not sure im explaining it in enough detail. sorry. thanks for the comments though.

Great work barnabei.
Not a colour I’m used to see in a WRX but it looks fantastic.
And it will be even more beautiful with the back spoiler.

I like that color quite a bit. I had chosen to do my 350Z that color. I have yet to start on it, but this gives me an idea of how it will look. I just hope I can do as good job on it as you have done on your WRX.

nice paint and lowering job barnabei btw, where do you get your kits over there? I used to be from mississauga and had to go all the way to northyork or scarborough to get good kits.

mx100, the fujimi advan RGs are 17 from the looks of it. If you want bigger advan RGs, you have to get the aoshima set. Those are 18s and looks good (mine came with the c-west rx-7)

i live in scarborough so i usually go to pacific mall (largest asian mall in north america) to get all my tamiya kits because they have a huge selection at a couple of shops in there and decent prices too. And for everything else, like paints, revell kits etc i go to Collectors Lane (5000 square feet of modelling goodness) over at Markham and Ellesmere.

My next projects gonna be a Tamiya RX7 , can anybody reccommend a nice set of 18-19" rims for it? maybe pics too so i can get a good idea of what they would look like?

thanks everybody

Thumbs up

nice car!

I noticed how well done are the black lines around the windows and between the doors? how did you do that, (especially the thin black lines on the body-work give me lotsa trouble, cos I don't really have a good way to paint it? how do you do it? work with very thin paint and let it flow through the lines? or do you work with special oil-paint that you sort of rub on the body in the last stage?

for the windows i just used very thin acrylic paint and let flow between the seems and for the panel lines i just use a very fine tip pen (.005) that i got from a business supplies store. thanks for the comment.

Nice job....

Hi,
very nice car.... continue like that.... clearly, the best of for WHELLS is AOSHIMA in 18 or 19"..... Some are with exceptionnal chrome.... It's better than FUJIMI....in general...
