Small block v8 swap into b series

Has anyone done a v8 small block swap into a mazda yet? I figure it can be done. I have been pricing out a rebuild on a 2.6L with a cracked head. And I am thinking a swap is just about the same price, with of course a solid front axle fabricated. I have heard of a guy doing a Ford 5.0L swap with major modifications. But if any of you have websites of build ups I would greatly appreciate it. I just want to go offroading and abuse my rig to the max, ya heard?. Or just rebuild and sell the mazda. Options Options options. fullsize blazer/bronco peaks my interest, but way large, huge turning radius. Give me a reply on your thoughts. What should I do?

Re: Small block v8 swap into b series

Two years ago I did this converstion. I have a B2600 with a 289 the unique aspect of this conversion is that I still use the same B2600 4 x 4 drive train. If you suppy me with your e-mail I will send you pictures.

Re: Small block v8 swap into b series

You can swap anything from a 350 chevy or a 4.3 V6 to a 351 ford.

check out ultimatecustoms.ca they have a few kits available for 2wd trucks, I'll bet 4x4's aren't much different.

Also a ton of guys on cardomain.com have done V8 swaps, just search years 1987-1993.

I would recommend swapping out your drivetrain however, those axles won't hold up to a V8; at least not for long.

Let me know how it goes.

The 4.0L ford v6 would be a good motor to swap with it's got good power and would be easier to fit than the v8.

You don't like turbo 2.6s? (beats the hell out of a v8)
