Please Need To Sell Car And Now Car Wont Start!!!!!!

Alright, well someone (2 people) are coming to check out my car tomorrow (selling it) and to my luck, it now has trouble starting up. Heres the deal:

If I was to go out right now and try to start up the car, it would fire right up. BUT, for example, today I ordered some pizza and then went for a drive, while waiting 15 minutes for them to make the pizza, so I go and pick it up and when I return, the car doesnt even bother to make a sound at all when I turn the key. There is still power in the battery, because I can listen to radio, etc. What could be wrong? I took it to Autozone and they said that the alternator and battery were fine (alternator was at 13.4 amps instead of a minimum of 13.5 amps). Then the guy(friend) said it might be the starter going out...

I have noticed that when the car is driven for a long period of time, it will not crank the next time I try to fire it up.

I read older threads and I checked to see if the alternator was bad, for example when the car is running, tap with a screw driver to see if it would stick to the alt. (like a magnet)...no luck, where are you supposed to tap it?

Also, when I turned on the car, and disconnected the battery, the car still ran, sooo that means that the alt. is working the right way, right?. (Are you supposed to disconnect just the power/ground or both?)

Please any immediate help will be much appreciated! It is just my luck for this to happen to me!

Man that SUCKS. Did you push your clutch pedal down all the way? I would guess that you just didnt have it that extra mm to let it fire up. I had that problem in my Cavy and Mike just about had a mental break down on the way home from when we bought his car because it wouldnt start due to me not pushing the clutch in all the way. Check that, the sensor may be going also. Last thing I would guess is the starter.

Check the coil. Chances are if you don't hear the starter cranking over its bad.

Edit-i also have coil pack also

edit#2-either i can meet u hafe way or u can come and get them either one were only 3 or 4 hours apart u can get them tommrow

I have already diabled the clutch starter switch, so it is not that. Also I have no time to drive 3 hours and then install, sorry. What interest me is that only after long drive it does this. Furthermore, this has been happening ever since I drained all the power out of my battery...but like I said, Autozone sai the battery was fine.

SOME MORE HELP!! LOL

I would not trust AUTOZONE. I had a problem with my starter and took it out. Went to AUTOZONE and tested it. They said that the starter was in PERFECT condition. I put it back in the car and the has same problem the next day. I went to Pepboys and bought a new starter and put in the car and have been driving with it for more then 7 months. So in the end it was the starter and autozone was bs me. Also I think its your coil pack. When starters are about to go they make either sounds before engine is started or after it is started or wont start at all. But it must make some sound of some sort.

I forgot to mention that...when I turn th key everything goes out on the car, no radio, no instrument lights, nothing...it is like there just isnt enough power in the battery...also after attempting to start up and no use, I remove the key and then the ECU goes CRAZY! It clicks like a mo-fo until I open the door!

How old is your battery? If you lose all power, I would say that the battery is bad. I would get a new coil pack and battery and see how that treats you. I dont overly trust that kind of diagnostic equipment, my battery died last winter and they said the battery checked out ok, but it wouldnt hold charge anymore.

sounds sorta like battery... if the battery can supply enough voltage then nothings goin to work right and wont fire the ignition coil very good cause it doesnt have enough juice...

See I have no clue how old the battery is...I had better change it though..or just tell the new owner (if he/she ever shows up) that they need to buy a new battery. I hope that, the battery is the problem, because I know that it has been through 3 owners (including me) with the same battery.

starter is very very easy 3 bolts and 2 plugs

Can some one post a pic of where it is? If it is easily accessible, I might take a look at it tomorrow. I drove the car everywhere today, and it was acting beautifully.
