My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

Well guys, right now I just want to know if any of you have had similiar experiences with the two cars. Basically, what I want to know is:

1. Which car is faster in the 1/4?
2. Which car handles better?
3. Which car do you think is a better overall well rounded car for Road Courses?

I know everyone on this board is all about integra's, but I just wanna know what would be the best rounded car. Thanks a lot.

Re: My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

A Prelude SH vs. GSR. That is a good question. I personally enjoy driving a GSR a lot more. the 8k rev limit, lighter car, etc. I raced my friend's 2001 Prelude SH which has a AEM v2 intake, and a catback and I won by about 1 car length to 95ish mph. He was able to pull ahead of me slightly at the beginning, but I reeled him in around 45mph in second and passed him at around 70mph in third.

In terms of a track car, I think the GSR has an edge. I've driven my friend's 2001 Prelude SH and I own a 1998 GSR. I would say that the GSR handles better. The Prelude feels slightly heavier and a little more cumbersome in the corners (not bad, just in comparison to the GSR). I'd say it really depends on the driver of each car as to how good a track car they make. They are pretty close.

1. Which car is faster in the 1/4? I believe the SH should win but would be a close race depending on the driver
2. Which car handles better? GSR is more light and angular i own an integra
3. Which car do you think is a better overall well rounded car for Road Courses?
GSR i think would be
Could be wrong but thats my opinion

Re: My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

I believe that the GSR is quicker in the 1/4. The lude doesn't quite have the topend that a GSR does.

SH has more power and more torque. If a the cars were able to put to the max i'd bet on the sh. But in the real world, it would be anyone's game depending on how good of a driver you are and other conditions. thats IMO
As for the handleing i really don't know, never drove a sh before but i'm sure the handleing is comparable but being lighter has it's advantages. Some say thats there no tuning that can compare to light weight (well i dunno if alot of people say this but i've heard this somewhere lol)

Re: My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

Thanks. Actually guys, my friend was the one who posted this thread under my screen name, thus, I have the Prelude SH. I used to have a GSR and loved it, but its been a while since I had it, and I don't know weather I should sell my SH and get another GSR or keep the SH. A part of me wants the GSR because I loved it when I had it, but another part wants me to keep the SH because I just got it like a week ago and haven't had much time to really experience yet. Please guys help me out. I am open to any suggestions. Thanks.

Re: My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

if you already have the SH i would keep for a little while ( you may like it more then the gsr) then decide whether or not to get a GSR

Re: My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

I was thinking about that, but its winter right now, and I wanna have my decision before spring so I can start running at the track.

Re: My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

I still say that the GSR is faster in the 1/4 mile.15.3 seems to be the most common 1/4 mile time for a GSR. 15.4 is all I have been able to find for the Prelude SH. Granted, that's not much of a difference. It really would leave it up to the drivers of each car.

keep it until like feb. 7 then drive both a gsr and the lude see which one you want then. (should give you plenty of time to sale and buy, assuming thats what your gonna do)

Re: My GSR vs. Friends Prelude Type SH...

it's not a driver's race. GSR is faster. I raced my friend in his SH in my LS and he barely won. We both agreed a GSR is faster.
