'98 Taurus Advice Please
Hi,
I'm thinking about buying a 1998 taurus with 135,000 miles on it and I'm kind of scared about it but really need an affordable car a.s.a.p. Can someone please tell me what I should look for when having it checked out and what are the most likely things to go wrong on this car with this mileage??? I would Greatly appreciate any advice, thanks so much in advance! |

Re: '98 Taurus Advice Please
if the taurus has an AX4S transmission, be very wary of transmission failure. Do not buy a taurus with that sort of mileage unless they can provide documentation of a replaced or rebuilt transmission or if you pay less than $1000 and can afford $2000 to have the transmission replaced at any given time.
