Horn trouble

Alright, my horns are not working. I searched the forum, but none of the other problems seem like mine. I used my horn earlier today, and it worked fine. I get home, and push "LOCK" on my key fob twice, and no honk. So, I open the door and push the horn button, nothing. Then, I hit the panic button on my fob, the lights all start blinking, but no horn. I got under the hood and checked to ensure my horns were still plugged in and they were. I took the horn relay and switched it with an identical relay on the block, and I still got nothing. Now, i am stumped. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Horn trouble

Did you check the fuse? If the fuse is good run a jumper wire down to the horn and touch it to the positive side and see what happens. If no honk then bad horn, if honk then start chasing the wires, fuse, and relay.

Re: Horn trouble

it's weird that both of your horns have gone out. That would indicate something electrically. However, that being said crawl under the passenger side and lookup. You should see the passenger side horn. Disconnect and remove it then hot wire and see if it works or just hot wire it in place. Also, get your wife to press the horn but with a test light and see if your getting voltage at the horns...
Happy hunting...

U mean the fuse? No idea. We'll see if it does it again, and then I'll worry

My horn fuse will blow everytime I lay on it over a full second. I have now learn to give 2 small beep when required. Otherwise, I'll be replacing the damn fuse again.

I would appreciate anyone insight as to why the fuse blows all the time. Perhaps a higher amp fuse? Or might this cause additional problems.

Thanks

DO NOT up the fuse amps!! If that wire is overloading that it's blowing the fuse then the wire bundle going from that fuse is to your horn system is going to catch fire or at least burn up
