Ticking Noise and Belt sounds

I usually start my car 5 min b4 I leave. Ive noticed that recently the engine has been making a ticking noise and the belt seems to be louder than normal. I popped the hood to listen and it almost sounds like a slight knock in one of the cylinders. Sometimes, its not there, othertimes it can be noticeable. Any suggestions?

I have started hearing the ticking noise also. Did you ever find out what it was?

I still haven't been able to find out what it is. Sometimes it is more noticeable, while others I can barely detect it.

Re: Ticking Noise and Belt sounds

i beleive the ticking noise you are hearing might be from the water pump (starting to go bad).
