Towing with 05

Anyone know what that towing capacity is for the 05 TB. Standard rear end, standard engine. LS. I thought I read somewhere that the max is about 6100.

I am buying a new camper and need to know what dry weight I should be looking at. What is the most is weight should pull?

Thanks

I'd stay under 5500 lbs total weight, and install an addt'l trans cooler, no o/d when towing also.

Re: Towing with 05

It depends on which engine you have (only the I6 is available for the SWB models in 05, but the 5.3L V8 is available in the EXT versions) and which gear ratio you have. The gear ratio is the most important thing, as it determines what RPMs your engine will spin while towing, and a higher ratio is better. I have an 02 TB LT with the middle gears, 3.73s, and they are available with 3.42s, and 4.10s (only for the I6 engine). Check the glovebox for codes, and they are posted here somewhere. Otherwise, goto www.TrailVoy.com and search the forums there. Ohh, and make sure to tell them ScarabEpic22 sent you!
