Malibu CD Player Likes HP CD-Rs

For years my 98 Malibu's CD player would only play the first 5 or so songs on a CD before skipping and cutting out completely, and it did it on store bought and burned CDs, so I thought I needed a new CD player, right?

Then I played a friend's CDs which were burned on HP brand blanks, and they played all the way through. I tried it too, and all the HP CDRs work fine.

Just thought I'd pass this along to maybe keep someone else from spending unneeded money on a new stereo...too bad I already wasted mine on an ipod and a cassette player
