Question 93' MT Shift Linkage Bracket Broken

Recently as I was driving down the highway, I lost every gear except 2 and 4.
I noticed that there are 2 shift cables...the rear must be for 1,3, and 5..while the front is for 2,4, and reverse. Well, there is a bracket that I suppose stabilizes the cables and controls tension. The part of my bracket where the rear cable goes into just so happened to shatter. There are 4 bolts holding the bracket on, which I removed..but i cant figure out how to remove the front cable from the bracket, to remove the bracket.

I need some info on how to loosen the cable to remove the bracket.
And Is the bracket Aluminum? Thanks
