I'd be ready to drop 12k (CAN) for one in a heartbeat if there was one available here. Twin Turbo models go to 300hp (a little over I think) and yes they are both essentially the same car under different names. Turbo AWDs make me horny I'm not sure if that would be a good deal on a Stealth though.. I think that Mitsubishi cars are more desired compared to the dodge cars.

Its a 15 year old car, of course it's going to have some mileage. Actually, 82K is a bit impressive. Usually you find most cars that are that old at over 100K. As for the price, it depends on the condition of the car, tires, engine etc.

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?

ya but for that old i think it should probly be around 5k rather then 8k

theres a actual 3000gt for 9500 or so but it has tears in its seats and flat tires and stuff and 109k on the meter so i think the stealth would probly be better

seriously, though i would sooo love a awd car, i slid into an island trying to turn on my first day driving in the snow, and awd would definatly be plus for me driving in the snow, as opposed to the other cars i want which are rwd

If you want a TT 3S for 5k be prepaired to get a very high milage one in not that good of condition.

just a thought... maybe if you slid into the island in the snow, you aren't ready for an 300HP AWD car... just becuase you can take off like a rocket in the snow, doesn't mean you can stop just as fast either.

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?

Thats a first gen, so it has an aluminum Transfer Case, they break....easily. unlike the 2nd gens that have a Steel TC. So if you plan on launching a lot....don't

Also, $8,500 is too much for a first gen with 82k miles IMO, $6500 is better. But find out if the 60k maintenance was done first.

THe 300hp wont counteract how it drives in the snow. As long as there are good snow tires (ie NOT HIGH PERFORMANCE) it will go about anywhere in the snow. As talskiny said that car is worth the 8500, if you want one for $5000 you are not going to get a nice one like that.

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?

Thats not too much for the car, ASSUMING the 60K service was done. Find that out, and go look at the car for yourself. Check underneath for any leaks (oil or from the t-case). Drive it. Make sure all the gears shift in smoothly. Be ready for lifter tick, becasue it will probably have some. Other than that, just check over the general stuff. No smoke out of the exhaust, etc.

Oh yea, and if its got "toys" (active suspension, active exhaust) check them too.

^assuming maintenance was done... than nothing for another 60K...

If it wasn't done though, IDK how that car could still be running at 82K w/o a 60K maintenance, but if it hasn't been done, you're in for a whole lot of problems.

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?

its not that anything HAPPENS after 60k....its just that thats the life span that mitsu gives their timing belt, and if your timing belt "goes" it pretty much "fucks" your motor. does that mean that the second the car hits 60k the belt is gonna break? no, but thats the recommended service interval as per mitsu. Basically, its worth your time and effort to change it every 60k.

Re: so dodge stealths are basically, rebranded 3000gts right?

I've heard a rumor that timing belts last anywhere between 55K-70K but since 60K is about at the middle, that's the best time to change them. Stealthee - is that true or false?
