I hate cops so much!!

A while back, December 8th, I got pulled over for my window tints. I never really knew they were illegal. They were on the vehicle when I bought it, so I never paid money to have them put on. I've been through so many stop checks and not one officer has said a word about them, so I figured they were legal. As i was saying, I was pulled over for the tints, I got a ticket of $150 for them and a vehicle inspection ticket. I get them taken off for $27 and then I head to the police station to get them inspected three days after I was pulled over. The cop was a complete ass, always asking "What do you want" "Hurry up, what do you need". I gave him the inspection ticket and he told me to take him to the car to see if the tints were removed. We both stepped right out front, and then he started walking back in so I followed. He turned around and said "Go home, GO HOME". I was like.. what the fuck ever dude.

So that brings me to now.. in the mail today, I get a letter from my insurance company. They said "you have failed to report or make a claim proving the removal of any reflective window and windshield covers to the Regina Police Office. If the request is not met, your vehicle will lose it's liability to be insured and deemed unsafe for Saskatchewan roads. If an inspection does not occur before February 16, 2006, a deductable of $200 will be paid and you're vehicle may be elligable for impound."

Thanks officer for being a lazy ass and making me have to go the effing SGI to get it reported because you didn't file the report. And thank you SGI for threatening to impound my car just so you can make some money. Blah, I'm moving to Alberta.

And thus, a buzzcut and a gun turn a dick into a dick with the power to make your life very difficult. I've met many good cops in my time, but I've met just as many utter cretins -- particularly members of that elite "waste of state taxes" group known as State Troopers: "My job is to sit in median strips, alongside guardrails, and in FRONT of the island in between the fork of the highway and an offramp, JUST to provide a dangerous situation for vehicles moving at 65+ miles per hour -- only to give you a ticket for doing 6 miles over the speedlimit and interrupting my morning coffee and bearclaw routine." Asshats...

I've met some good town cops in my day, but I've yet to meet a decent state pig.

Crazy, In mn usually all the troopers ive been pulled over by have been by far the nicest to me. I've only had a few run-ins with real asshole cops though.

Damn you weren't treated very well at all. I have to say though I've never had a horrible experience with a cop and the ones I know personally are some of the best people I've ever met.

Cops have never even mentioned my tint. I always drop my windows every time I get stopped and maybe that's why. Dunno.

Used to be that they were more worried about how many bottles they could find in my vehicles. That kind of dark glass.

Problem being filing a complaint might give him more shit than its worth. Reason being is that when a complaint is filed against an officer he usually tells his buddies. In turn his buddies bust your balls for anything they can get away with. BE CAREFUL ABOUT WHO U PISS OFF IT MIGHT BITE U IN THE ASS.

how can insurance get revoked for tinting? Window tinting, is NOT a moving violation: like a rolling stop, merging too soon, or speeding. It could however be considered "obstruction of view".... kinda like when boxes are piled to high in car, preventing you to see behind you, or the blind spots.

The problem with this, is that SGI has the final say over any registered vehicle. SGI stands for Saskatchewan Government Insurance just FYI. They both register and insure vehicles.. and it's a government company, so this is just a huge monopoly and I can't exactly go anywhere else. Since they register and insure vehicles, they refuse to insure any vehicles that wouldn't be able to get a registration, and that's where my car falls under. So yes, this would be called obstruction of view, but they also claim that if you somehow end up in a lake or something, the glass would not break because of the tinting and you would be dead. There's a lot of really stupid laws here, and I'll fully comply, when they start giving me the respect I deserve.

I accepted the ticket with no hassle. I got the tints removed with no hassle.. and yet the cops were still asses to me. Not once have I rejected any of their choices, I followed it like a bitch

Could have been how you were coming across to him, tone of voice, those things can become sub-concious, I wasn't there to judge I was just saying how it is.
