Question 99 replaced serpentine-need timing belt???

I have a 99 Beetle and it has been squeeking, so I replaced the serpentine belt. It looked as if it needed changing anyway. Now, it is still sqeeking. It sounds as if it may be the timing belt. Has anyone done this? Or does anyone have pictures of what this entails? If at all possible I would like to do this on my own and not have to take it to the shop. Any information at all would be great! Thanks!
Jodi

Re: 99 replaced serpentine-need timing belt???

timing belt is the easiest on a 2.0

if you dont have a 2.0 i would not suggest replacing the belt yourself, inless you are a mechanic
