NEED HELP ASAP!
Red fluid leading from front of 01' Intrepid. Dripping onto parking lot from driver's side at very front of car, looks like fluid also accumulating in pan under radiator. Driver's side only. The fluid looks "thick" and the puddle of it on my employer's parking lot had water beaded up on it, so it's a little oily in nature. What is this stuff, and where's it coming from? Need help in diagnosing problem ASAP -- need to know if safe to drive! THANKS! |

Re: red fluid leaking?
that red stuff is your engine coolant. Based on the location of where you describe sounds like it's leaking from the plastic coolant tank located on the driver's side strut panel, those are prone to leaking. Get that fixed soon or else you'll overheat and ruin your engine.

Re: red fluid leaking?
if its oily its probably tranny fluid or ps fluid. i *THINK* there might be a cooler for the ps there but you should have a shop look at it. you might need the rubber tranny lines replaced. ive seen the ps coolers rub on a bolt and leak too.

Re: red fluid leaking?
i would say trans fluid.. usually you'll need to change a hose that's it.. cost: less than 1$ if DYI. 15$ at garage
