taking off the hamburger.

Alright, from what I have seen and heard, their are a couple of different ways to do this.

The important thing you have to understand first is how did they attach it, then you can figure out how to get it off.

It is attached with some plastic tabs that were heated up and bent flat and melted to the grill.

So, here are some ways to remove it.

1.) Take off the entire front grill. Get a heat gun, of some type, maybe even a really hot blow dryer, and melt the plastic away.

2.) Take off the entire grill and use a screwdriver or a chisel to chip away and brake the plastic.

3.) Try to chip away the plastic from inside the grill without removing it.

4.) Try to wedge a flathead screwdriver between the badge and the grill and chisel it away.

I was able to break up the plastic clips on the top two attachment points from inside the grill without removing the entire grill. The third one was a real pain in the butt, and I got lazy and just jammed my screwdriver down the front of the grill and hammered it down. That isn't the best way to do it though, because you could easily make marks on the grill. It made one little gauge in the process, but I didn't care because I planned to chrome my grill anyhow.

the best advice I can give you is be patient and don't get frusterated. I thought I would be able to get it off in a just a minute or so. It took me at least a half hour to an hour. It is really a pain to get off, but if you keep at it, it will come off.

Also remember that taking it off is permanent, you can't put it back on, so make sure you want to do it.

Good luck!

Get a small disk grider, borrow one at a shop or something, a little grinding and they come right off. took me about 20 seconds. You won't be able to save the badge, unless you find another way of attaching it, no big loss.
