Dashlights, Wipers, Locks, and more!! 92 Drop Top.

So it was raining pretty bad today, and my car started freeeeking out. Had this car for about a year now, been in the family since it was made. The problem is that the dash lights went haywire then shut off completly, the doorlocks kept locking and unlocking and now dont lock, just unlock, and the wipers only work in the highest 2 settings. Dont know what the problem is, but im thinking it has something to do with the main body computer...maybe? was wondering if anyone else had this problem, or had a diagram of where this problem could be occuring. Also could be fuses, but had my dad check em (hes a car guy) and he says they all look good. Please help! Shes soooo good to me! email is [email protected] THANKS

It's possible the metal contacts are worn on them...my power mirrors would not move in some directions when I tried to adjust them and when I took the controls apart I found that the metal contacts were completely worn off...of course I went into the house and ripped off a sheet of aluminum foil and grabbed the super glue....my mirrors are now working perfectly.

i guess that could be the problem, but if they all went out at once, wouldnt it be a sign of a fuse problem or something along that nature? i dunno. i took off the the part on top of the steering collum, and above the gauges, but all i found so far was a broken headlight spring. that is not the problem. i dont know if i mentioned in my first post, but also my head light doors do not close. i really need some help. thanks for trying, but if anyone else has any ideas im all ears!

Well, the first time I read it it sounded as if some water had gotten in somewhere, dripped on wires and shorted some shit. And yes, it did sound like it could have been a fuse problem, but you said your dad said they were okay...

he did check the fuses, and again today. but the funny thing is today everything started to work again....but we still wanna know what the problem is!! out lebaron book says something about a body computer....shows that the wipers and the locks and some other things that wernt working are run from it. we cannot find this so called body computer. anyone have any ideas?!

No idea what this main body computer is, but it's very possible some of the rain got into it and just now dried up. *shrug*

aha! found it, just gotta "find it" The main body computer is located BEHIND, yes BEHIND the back bench....weird. O well. working on finding the easiest way of doing so. well just some info for ya, if these things start acting up, just check this thing is you cant fgure it out. thanks for the help guys, good luck, and LEBARON PRIDE!!!

What did you do the the body computer to fix the problem, also you said behind the bench I suppose you mean the rear seats and on what side Pass or drivers side? My dash lights went out and my parking lights too along with my license plate light.
