gauge problem

i have a 2000 astro van and the other day it died so being in a hurry to get to school my friend hooked up his end of the jumper cables backwards on his end and as i tried to start my van we saw smoke coming from the cables so we got another set of cables and hooked them up right and now 3 of my 5 gauges don't work the battery and oil pressure work but the gas temp and speedo gauges don't work. and i checked all the fuses and they are all good so i was wondering what else i need to check. i was also told to check the fusible links but i don't know where to look for them. so any help would be greatly appriciated
