why is my engine making a tapping noise???

my engine is always makin a tapping sound and i cant understand y it is doin this or where it is coming from? anybody have any ideas wot it is? where its cumin from? and what i can do about it???

if its a 1.1 old shape fiesta its the tappets u cant stop it from tappin

hello mate if you havent got any oil in your engine then mite be why its making your tappets noisy check oil that could be you fault
