Best Coilovers for 96 Civic

I am in the market to put in some adj coilovers on my 96 Civic EX coupe. What are some good brands and what is a good price. I have hear Skunk2 and Ground Control are good. Any suggestions?

I have the GCs, and I love them. Hella easy to adjust, and even on stock struts they give a smooth ride. I think you'll find them in the price range of around $300 in most places. I don't know anyone that has GCs or Skunk 2s, and doesn't like them, so I'd say you're on the right track.

What kind of drop can I get away with for normal driving with no bodykit? Most of em say I can drop it up tp 4" but I think that would be too much and I would end up scraping a lot.

I just bought a $150 set of R1 adjustable springs... Cheapest pieces of shit ever. The adjusters are poorly made and are hard to use and the ride, on brand new Tokico's is really really hard... Do it right the first time, now I have to buy new springs...

If you want to get the feel you should go w/ a used set of Eibach's pro kit w/ 1.5 to 2in. drop. once you've done that you can get coilovers if you want to drop it more but w/ 2in. your handiling will be alot better and your cars reaction time for turns will increase alot.

ps. w/ a 2in drop your likely going to scrape some. i know i did

You can drop it pretty much as low as you want. Illuciv99 has the GCs and he's on stock wheels with no kit, and he's completely dumped. Me on the other hand, I'm on 17's, and at first I dropped it about 3 inches, but she scraped everywhere I turned, so I raised it an inch or so, and now it's fine, unless I have 4 people in the car. It usually only rubs when I make u turns or hard left turns, but all it's rubbing on is the liner that's in the wheel well, and if it starts to bother you, you can always cut it back. You just kind of have to 'relearn' some aspects of driving when you're lowered. Basically you have to be more careful.
