I got the code from a mechanic shop and this is what came out:
P0741 Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) mechanical system performance One website said that the possible causes could be electrical not mechanical. I also found out that this is a common occurance with Ford trucks. Has any one come across this problem and what was the fix? And of course the price to fix it? Thank you for any help.

Re: P0741 Error code
Quote:
One person told me it was an internal transmission problem and another told me it was a computer board sending false information!! Go figure??? So we have done nothing and the van is driving and shifting just fine. BTW, the mechanic that told me it was a computer error sending false info has had several Fords into his repair shop for the same thing and he has not been able to fix any of the error codes because no one seems to know what is causing it. He called a fancy transmission place in Texas and talked to experts for over an hour and could not get a solution to the problem. This post is probably not much help. |

Re: P0741 Error code
how long since your last trans flush? might be worthwhile to flush it and use merconV in it. i know a lot of those transmissions have a tendency to slip the tcc when the fluid gets old.
