Question Service engine soon warning 2001 BMW 740

Hi,

I am seeing this warning for the last couple of days. Has anybody seen it? What could be the cause?

I would like to respond to this question. I know as the other people stated it means service engine soon. but I would like to comment that is not always so. Instead of a wise crack answer that they gave, I would first suggest that you check your gas cap, if you recently got gas it may not be on right. Open the cap again and retighten it. It may take a day or two for the computer to reset itself. I hope this might help you and keep you from spending alot of money that may not be needed. Sometimes a answer is better than a wise crack. It happened to me all of a sudden and someone gave me the advice I gave you, nothing wrong with passing it on. Elaine
