Spark plug heat shields

On our '99 Regal GS cylinders 1-3-5 and 6 all have a metal heat shield around the spark plug boot. However, 2-4 don't have the heat shields on them. Is this standard on all 3.8L's or did they disappear at somepoint before we purchased this car (used)?

No not standard. All 6 cylinders should have them. I checked my Regal GS and LS. All acounted for.
