body lift questions

I am considering a 3" body lift for my '04 ext. cab because it sits pretty low considering its not the 4x4. I still have the stock 245 tires and am about to purchase bigger tires. Would 285's fit perfect with a 3in body lift? Could I go bigger? Where can I take my car to install the body lift and how much will it cost? Also, do only the 4x4's have t-bars because i want to level my front end. Thanks for the help guys.

Re: body lift questions

I wish I had the money, but I don't... which is why I'm interested in a simple body lift.

Re: body lift questions

Get the suspension lift if you can swing it in any way. If you cannot possibly do it. Do the body lift right. make sure you get the stuff to hide the body lift. so you cant see the space between the frame and body. That looks so friggin bad. Also get the bumper relocation hardware. Once you do this you would probably be better off with the suspension

I completely 100% concur with this. Body lifts look like crap ...

But to answer your question. Yes 285's will fit. I have 285's now and I have no lift at all.
If you would like, I'm sure 305/70's will fit witha 3" body lift, 315's might even fit I'm not sure. It all depends on what wheels your using and the backspacing whether or not they will rub.

Lightbulb Re: body lift questions

The 315's will fit with body lift but they will rub a little when going in reverse and turning sharp to your left. you might have to cut off a 1/4 inch of the black plastic inside your fender well on the driver side only.

Re: body lift questions

Well, if you do the body lift, the body will move up 3", but the bumper will remain attached to the frame and you will have this gap, that looks horrible. The bumper relocation brackets just move the bumper up so it looks stock
