Angry Transmission Programming

Just got a call from my dealership that the problems I have been having (since they put in the new transmission to replace the one they destroyed) are caused by a bad battery and that the transmission had to be reprogrammed. Interesting enough, not everybody agrees and I have been told to disconnect the battery to fix transmission problems by other tech people. Called DC and they told me to call another dealership, called dealership and they told me to call DC tech support. They also added I cannot call them as I am a consumer and it is for dealerships only...Circular logic ?

Anybody got any information to spare, it is a '97 AWD Grand Caravan. It has been acting up ever since I brought it home, jerking while accelerating, no reaction to putting the pedal to the floor at times. This does not seem like a programming problem to me and in the beginning they told me it was a valve, now they claim it is a bad battery problem since I replaced my battery a week ago (a side note, my radio stations are still there...).
Any help is greatly appreciated...I am ready to

Re: Transmission Programming

If the transmission loses it's memory (battery disconnected could do that) it could take a while for it to relearn the parameters of the trans. I saw an article a few years ago that stated in order to reduce wear on the transmission during the re-learn process, it recommended putting the vehicle on a lift so the wheels can spin freely and do 80, 0-30-0 repetitions and then 40, 0-60-0 repetitions. This should get the trans computer close to being where it needs to be. Driving it normally should complete the process.

Re: Transmission Programming

No the guy said they had to program the gear settings or something and it was not the quick learn procedure done with the DRB III. I have also been told by another dealership that in order to correct transmission problems I should disconnect the battery for a bit (they didn't hear anything about the TCM programming). Can the TCM memory be erased and does this require professional programming to set it up to work correctly ? Not the convenience settings but I mean in order to work correctly.
