My 95 S-10 (4 cyl.) 4.2 L has suddenly begun spitting, sputtering, and hesitating when accelarating a few days ago. Just this morning the "service engine" light came on. I just purchased a new fuel filter, plugs, and PVC valve...could those be the problems? Any other suggestions?
By the way...were IS the PVC valve located? I can't find it...

Re: Suddenly began hesitating, spitting, sputtering
the pcv is always somewhere in the cam cover on the top of the motor. "Positive crankcase ventilation" is what it stands for and is there to relieve gas pressure built up in the motor. be careful taking it off- certain years of the s10 do not have a removeable pcv and you will kill youself when you try to get it off it snaps in your hand. i would check spark and gas but dont rule out the cat and the o2's.

Re: Suddenly began hesitating, spitting, sputtering
Get it scanned for free at Autozone. Then you'll have a really good idea of what's wrong.
You'll probably want to give it a good tune up sometime soon |
