Question Rear Wiper Motor Removal

Hello Everyone,

This is a very informative forum. I own a 99 Expedition XLT. The rear wiper stopped working a few weeks ago. I had it checked and know that the motor needs to be replaced, however I can't seem to get the rear panel off. Is there an easy way to pop it off? Thanks for help in advance.

Jason

Re: Rear Wiper Motor Removal

You need to make sure that you remove the door handle strap from the panel first and then the panel "pops" off, there are plastic/metal clips that hold it in place. You will need a 1/4" ratchet with an 8mm socket to remove the rear wiper motor. Disconnect the electrical and install the new one in and put it all back together. It's really easy. I used to change out almost 5 a day when I worked at the Ford dealership here in Panama City.
