Talking Completed: Tamiya 02 Subaru Impreza WRX STI

Greetings fellow members,

This is my fourth completed model and I am still learning...On this car, I tried to experiment with CF decals and the result is not bad but the look of it does not depict real CF. I do have to agree with some members here that CF decals are not always accurate when applied on a scale model. It does not look right for some reasons.

The color on the hood is not dark enough when compared with a real CF hood. I am not sure if I have to spray a coat of smoke on top to finish it up or what.

The Rims are Fujimi 18" BBSes, I like the look of it on the impreza so I picked them up. Turned out pretty good. The design of this model eliminates the need for modifying the rims from female to male connectors.

That's all of the modfications I have done on this car. The rest is OOB.

I have made numerous mistakes on this car and I almost give up on it. There are some minor paint chips here and there, but it really was too late to strip paint so I coverd it up.

I initially planned on putting a GT wing on it but the result looked good enough without it. Should I even bother?

Here are the pics:

Other side (missing side blinker, I need to order it from Rainbow 10 or something):

Finally a close up of the CF hood:

Thanks for looking!

Nice Impreza. Looks really good! I think you should have a wing on the trunk. It would fit perfect! But it's nice without too. Nice job with the CF too! Keep it up!

It's a clear coat from Mr. Hobby (Gunze Sangyo). This is the best clear coat I've used. Much better than TS-13 that screws up decals if you are not careful.

Looks good.
So does this kit come with male or female wheels originally?
