need help with new pistons and rods.
I have a 98 GSR and the compression is 10:6.1 and im looking to get new pistons and rods that run around 8:0.1 or something around 8. I was wondering what to get thats cheap but will last. or if getting it used would be wise? What about other honda engines? do any of them have a compression like that that will fit in a GSR block? thanks

Re: need help with new pistons and rods.
so....what's done to the GSR that makes the comp that high? I assume you're boosting and depending on the power you're looking for, you could just stay w/ the stock rods and pistons. I'm boosting my 99 GSR and looking to make 300whp on the stock bottom end. If you do still plan to lower the comp, just do 9:1....that's the most common it seems like.
If you're boosting, you aren't going to want to use OEM Honda rods and i would plan to spend $800+ for new rods and pistons..... What are your goals?

Re: need help with new pistons and rods.
now days with proper ems/tuning and some race gas, stock gsr blocks are making 450whp.

they are i know, but i'm not going to chance it......if you're tearing the engine down, i'm putting in some good quality parts.....
