What lighting system do you recommend?

I have a 2x4 standard cab '94 Sonoma. I'm a diving instructor and I need to be able to light up dive sites for teaching night diving. The catch is that I don't want to drill holes in my cab roof. I've looked at mounting some lights to the box directly behind the cab, but they wouldn't be high enough to be very effective. I've also though about getting some magnetic mount lights with cig. adapter extension cords, but I also want these lights to be switchable from the dash for backing out of my extremely dark driveway.

I realize that I have the option of putting a light bar on the roof, but I'd rather not drill holes in the cab roof. Backwards facing lights on a light bar would look really goofy anyways.

I've thought about getting a round aluminum bar bent up to match the contour of the cab and have it mount to the box directly behind the cab. That would probably cost me a few hundred bucks to get built though.

I've seen small trucks with the steel work truck window guards on them, but I don't want to get one of those because they're heavy and they really limit your rear view vision.

Just curious if any of you Sonoma'ers have any bright ideas (no pun intended)?

I'd prolly go with the aluminum roll bar even though it's a lil spendy...i'm sure you can find some swivel lights to go on top for when you're not diving or backing up at night...this way would look the best in my opinion...

Well, I've come to a decision:

I'm putting a crossover aluminum tool box in my truck. It's the kind with two lids that lift towards the center of the vehicle.

I'm going to mount an offroad 50w halogen light on each of the lids facing backwards and have them switchable from the dash. The lights rotate easily so I can aim them where I need them.

This should take care of both of my requirements... I'll have some nice reverse lights and I'll get the height I need to light up the ground by lifting the tool box lids.
