Re: chevy silverado 2500hd change running headlight
No tools required! Pop the hood, remove the 2 pins that hold the headlights in ( turn and pull straight up on them) the headlight assembly can now be moved out of the way enough to reach the running light assem. If drivers side look on the right (pass will be on the left) of the DRL there will be a piece of plastic from the DRL that needs to be unfastened. That's it. Be sure to check the orientation of the bulb I think they have to go in a certain way.

Re: chevy silverado 2500hd change running headlight
thanks, will I access the two points you spoke of from the top or from underneath to relead the light housing. Tons of covers on top. The whole light sssemble comes out correct? Thanks again for responding.

Re: chevy silverado 2500hd change running headlight
Top, no need to remove any covers. the headlights are clear of any covers. Just turn and pull out the two pins that hold the headlight in then fish around for the clasp that holds the drl. real simple, I applaud chev for this. I had the same problem, a running light out, (probably same as about every other guy here). I fumbled around a little with it without any direction and was amazed at how simple it was.
